Services
Three ways to work together
You are the expert on your own life. The job is to help you use that.
Counseling
Individual therapy for adults, in person in Raleigh or by secure video anywhere in North Carolina. Sessions are typically weekly for the first four to six weeks, then adjusted as progress allows.
Addiction, in every form
Substances, gambling, pornography, gaming, food, social media, shopping. Assessment and treatment from questioning your use through sustained recovery. This is Dr. Barnett’s clinical specialty.
Anxiety
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, avoidance. We work on what is driving it, not just managing it.
Depression
Low mood, loss of interest, exhaustion that sleep does not fix.
Trauma and PTSD
Processing what happened at a pace you set, with the goal of it taking up less room.
Relationships
Communication, boundaries, and the patterns that keep repeating with partners, family or at work.
Personal growth
Self-awareness, life transitions, and working out what you actually want. Not everything that brings people to therapy is a crisis.
Coaching
Coaching is future-focused. Where therapy often works with what happened, coaching works with what is next: goals, direction, accountability and momentum.
Coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for it. If what you are carrying needs clinical care, we will tell you, and we can do that instead. Because it is not clinical care, coaching is available beyond North Carolina.
Consulting
For organizations, programs and professionals in behavioral health, drawing on experience across outpatient therapy, intensive in-home services, community support teams and substance-abuse treatment programs.
In person or online
Sessions can be held at the Raleigh office or by secure video anywhere in North Carolina. Many clients do both, depending on the week. Telehealth runs on the same HIPAA-compliant platform as scheduling.
Insurance & fees
We’re in network with these plans
Coverage varies by plan, so we can’t guarantee your specific plan is in network. It is worth a quick call to your insurer first. Self-pay is also available, and some clients prefer it: the number of sessions you need is decided between you and your clinician, not by an insurance company. Out of network, you can request a monthly superbill. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed, are charged a $105 fee.
