Dr. Lamont Barnett
PhD, LCASA, MAC, CPLC, CNHP · Founder & clinician
Addiction in every form, trauma, and the work that comes after.
Therapy is a learning experience for both the client and the clinician; hence we take a collaborative attitude to treatment.
Dr. Barnett built his career in the settings where the hardest work happens: outpatient therapy, intensive in-home care, community support teams, and substance-abuse treatment programs. He has worked with major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar I and II, PTSD, ADHD, intermittent explosive disorder, autism, and intellectual developmental disorders.
He earned an MS in Psychology in 2015 and taught as an Adjunct Psychology Professor at Wesleyan University while continuing to practice. On completing his PhD he founded LHB, partly for the freedom to bridge clinical and holistic therapy, and partly because of how closely he had seen mental, physical and spiritual health connected.
He works from solution-focused, person-centered, mindfulness-based, dialectical behavioral and cognitive behavioral approaches, chosen to fit the person in front of him rather than the other way round.
