Addiction, in every form
Substances, gambling, pornography, gaming, food, social media, shopping. Assessment and treatment from questioning your use through sustained recovery.
Services
Individual therapy for adults, in person in Raleigh or by secure video anywhere in North Carolina.
This is the core of the practice. Dr. Barnett’s clinical specialty is addiction, and he treats it alongside the things that usually travel with it: anxiety, depression, trauma, and the strain all of it puts on the people around you.
Service description
Mental health counseling involves a collaborative therapeutic process aimed at addressing addictions, emotional, behavioral, and/or psychological challenges. Through confidential sessions, we provide support, guidance, and evidence-based interventions to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and improve overall well-being. The goal is to promote insight, resilience, and positive change in individuals’ lives.
Substances, gambling, pornography, gaming, food, social media, shopping. Assessment and treatment from questioning your use through sustained recovery.
Persistent worry, racing thoughts, physical tension, avoidance. We work on what is driving it, not just managing it.
Low mood, loss of interest, exhaustion that sleep does not fix.
Processing what happened at a pace you set, with the goal of it taking up less room.
Communication, boundaries, and the patterns that keep repeating with partners, family or at work.
Self-awareness, life transitions, and working out what you actually want. Not everything that brings people to therapy is a crisis.
Sessions are typically weekly for the first four to six weeks, then adjusted as progress allows. Most major insurance accepted, and self-pay is available.
Everything after it is easier. You don’t need the right words to start.
