What we treat

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to sort it out alone

Addiction isn't only about substances

Some things you can't put down aren't sold in a bottle. If it's costing you time, money, sleep, or people — it counts here, and you won't have to justify calling it a problem.

Insurance & fees

We're in network with these plans

Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Cigna
Healthy Blue
Wellcare

Coverage varies by plan, so we can't guarantee your specific plan is in network — it's worth a quick call to your insurer first. Self-pay is also available, and some clients prefer it: the number of sessions you need is decided between you and your clinician, not by an insurance company. Out of network, you can request a monthly superbill. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, are charged a $105 fee.

Founder & clinical lead

Dr. Lamont Barnett, PhD

Founder & clinician · PhD, LCASA, MAC, CPLC, CNHP

Therapy is a learning experience for both the client and the clinician; hence we take a collaborative attitude to treatment.

Dr. Barnett built his career in the settings where the hardest work happens — outpatient therapy, intensive in-home care, community support teams, and substance-abuse treatment programs. He works from solution-focused, person-centered, mindfulness-based, dialectical behavioral, and cognitive behavioral approaches, chosen to fit the person in front of him.

Questions

Before you reach out

How often will we meet?
Weekly sessions are strongly recommended for the first four to six weeks. As progress allows, many clients move to every other week or monthly.
Do you accept insurance?
We're contracted with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Healthy Blue, and Wellcare. Coverage varies by plan, so we can't guarantee your specific plan is in network. Contact your insurer directly to confirm before your first session.
Why do some clients choose self-pay?
The number of sessions you need is determined between you and your clinician rather than by an insurance company, and insurers sometimes limit both the length and number of sessions they will cover.
What if I'm out of network?
You can request a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement isn't guaranteed and depends on your plan.
What's the cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice. Appointments cancelled with less notice, or missed, are charged a $105 fee. This fee can't be billed to insurance.
What happens in the first session?
Mostly listening. We talk about what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping changes. You don't need to have it organized or explain everything at once.
Do you see clients outside Raleigh?
Yes. Telehealth is available anywhere in North Carolina. Coaching, which isn't clinical care, is available more broadly.
